KD—Lounge Lecture Series Season 17
'Balance of Perspectives'
KD—Lounge is a public lecture series about design and its related disciplines. It aims to inspire, educate and entertain by creating a platform to learn from first hand experiences. The series offers creators a stage to express themselves. KD—Lounge is independently organized by students of communication design in Constance, Germany since 2008 and grants an exclusive insight into the current design industry.

The topic of this Season, ‘Collective Memory’, describes the conscious remembering and forgetting of experiences, knowledge and information within social groups. Following the notion of a collective memory, we created a permanent exhibition at our university building. For every lecturer, a variety of posters were displayed with the information to take a flash photo. By doing that, the information on the poster gets revealed by a reflective text layer. Simultaneously the poster itself gets archived in the viewers' phone. The posters were created with an AI, collecting, remembering and interpreting the work of each lecturer. The generated 2D animation were then transferred into a 3D model. Based on private memories of the lecturer, we animated those specific models in their own environments.

At the beginning of every season there is the LSC (Lounge Supporter Club) event. A party where we launch our merch to get financial support for the upcoming season.
